Photography Related Links, The Really Really Late Edition

I was very busy with some design work over the last week, so my websites had to take a temporary back seat. Of course, as is typical lots of news happens when you’re not paying attention, but anyway. The big news of course was that Canon released some new compact cameras including a new revision of their popular high end G series of compacts. They also released another very interesting compact, the S90 which seems to be the sensor from the G11 but in an IXUS sized body. More on that later. For now here’s the weird, wacky and interesting from around the web for the last few days.

Canon Rumors has the possible specifications of the next generation D Series camera from Canon, the 1D Mark IV. Just a rumor but interesting.
On the subject of Canon related rumors, another new DSLR from canon, the often speculated about 7D is rumored to ship on September the 1st.
Professional Photographer Magazine (UK) announces the “Professional Photographer of the Year” competition, with the prize being a trip for two to New York.
Finally, not quite photography related, but as many of us use Macs, Apple has just announced the ship date for Snow Leopard. It will hit the shelves (virtual or otherwise) this Friday.
