Pseudo HDR Image of New York Skyline

I was playing around with Photomatix and Photoshop with a single NEF file and this is the result ! The web size really doesn’t do it justice. It looks great on my 24″ iMac.
I know a magician is not supposed to reveal his secrets, but anyway, here’s the original for comparison. Incidentally, the sky was recovered from the original RAW file. there was nothing added except a little colour grading in Photoshop.
