Red and blue Georgian Doors Continuing on from where I left off, after my walk by the Canal, I headed into the georgian area of the city around Mount Street and Merrion Square. I used to live around that area, so I know it well. I love this part of Dublin, especially at the weekend when it's very quiet. For some, Georgian Dublin is a bit of a cliche, but I like it. I love the stateliness of the buildings, although having worked in a few of them, they're not that nice inside. I love the doors, and doorways too. There's nothing that symbolises Dublin more than the doors of the Georgian Buildings. Well, except maybe the Ha'penny Bridge. Or the Spire. Or.... Well, you know what I mean...

The emptiness of the streets is quite a striking thing...

While it's quiet at the weekend, it's not completely dead. You get the odd person walking around, and the odd character nearly makes the place seem even more empty.

I ended up in the always beautiful Merrion Square. Merrion Square is one of those parks in Dublin that not everyone knows about. It's usually pretty quiet, except for the locals and a few tourists that have stumbled into the Park. It''s very well maintained though, and it's lovely this time of the year.
