Street Photo Diary No. 13

Street Photo Diary No. 13

I wrote in my last two street photography diary posts about how I was finding it difficult to keep inspired lately. In my continued effort to overcome it, I've tried to shake up my routine. Previously I'd talked about going to different places, but this time my goal was to try and take different shots. I set out to try and get more abstract images, and I think it's kind of paid off.

I limited myself to one camera and one lens. In this case the Sony A6000 and the sigma 30mm f/2.8. While I've been shooting wider lately, I liked the idea of capturing just a slice of the action, and the way a slightly closer feel can give a sense of intimacy or even a feeling of being right in the middle of things. There's an almost chaotic feel to the framing.

This set is a bit more experimental than my usual ones. I've been focussing on details and objects, as well as reflections and shadows. I'm pretty happy with the results. I don't think it's my usual type of street shots, which is a good thing. Anyway, here's a selection of photos for your enjoyment.
