Upcoming E-Book Projects

Upcoming E-Book Projects

In keeping with my earlier post today, I wanted to share some of the other projects I'm working on. Specifically in terms of the e-book guides I've published recently. I currently have two guides out for Processing X-Trans files in Lightroom and Capture One respectively. I'm currently working on a third guide as well as some updates.

Iridient Developer Guide

I'm currently working on my third X-Trans processing guide. this one is for Iridient Developer. This was one of the first non-adobe raw processing tools that I tried for processing Fuji files, and it's still one of people's favourites. While it has the downside of being mac only (for now) it is fast and powerful, and works great in conjunction with Lightroom. In the guide I will cover everything from making sense of Iridient's controls to setting it up to work with Lightroom as a plug in and lots more.

It will probably be a couple of weeks away yet, but in the mean time, if you have any questions, or you think there is anything that I should cover in this guide please let me know.

Lightroom Guide Update

I will shortly be releasing the first update to my Lightroom Guide too. Well, by shortly, I mean a couple of weeks. If you've already purchased it, don't worry, it will be a free update. I plan to include some new topics, such as Moire reduction, some more tips for processing Jpeg files in Lightroom, as well as some tips on using Grain to help with your images. I will also have some preliminary settings and suggestions for X-Pro 2 users. I hope to have this update out in the next few weeks too. In the mean time, if you haven't seen the current version of the guide, you can find it on my Digital Download store.

Guide and Presets for Sony A6000 Shooters

I'm also in the early stages of putting together a similar guide for Sony A6000 shooters too. Over the past year shooting with the Sony A6000, I've discovered quite a lot of things that can trick you up processing A6000 shots, so I am working on a guide for getting the best out of A6000 raw files. I'll have some companion Lightroom presets too. It's still in the planning stages, so stay tuned for updates.

By the way, the Image I'm using as the thumbnail from this post is from Pexels, which is a handy site if you need images for your blog posts. Images are creative commons and copyright free, as well as actually free. Even as a photographer, there are times when I need some kind of stock image for a site, so it's handy to have resources like this. Forbes had an article a while ago listing a number of sites which have free stock images (that are actually useable) and if you're a fellow blogger it might be of use to you, so here's the link to it.
