Adobe Updates Photoshop CC (And other CC Apps)

Adobe Updates Photoshop CC (And other CC Apps)

Yesterday Adobe released a major update to many of its Creative Cloud Apps, including Photoshop. The updates include a number of new features, and further integration of Creative Cloud Libraries and Adobe Stock. Photoshop in particular includes some interesting new tools.

Probably the most headline grabbing new addition to Photoshop CC is the new “Content Aware Crop” which will fill in edges of your images when cropping or rotating.

Another new feature coming to photoshop is the ability of the software to recognise fonts. This doesn’t require an editable type layer, but rather uses image recognition to suggest similar fonts to the in your image. As a designer I can’t tell youth number of times I’ve had clients ask me to match a specific font, and this would have been a very useful tool to have.

Updates have also been added to the quick selection tools, including a new workspace for working with masks and selections, and there have been some changes to the liquify tool for working with faces.

There are other new additions too, with improvements to creative cloud libraries and Adobe stock integration across all the Creative Cloud apps. Performance has also got some attention with improvements to the Font menu and Content-Aware fill.

A complete list of the changes are available on Adobe’s official Photoshop Blog.
