I’ve been working on a few new Lightroom presets, and I have two new packs which are due for release pretty soon, hopefully this week. The two are “FilmLUX 2” and “Industrial Iron”. The first is a sequel to my Film Lux set of presets, and the second is the latest in my “metals” series. I have a sneak peek of these new sets, including some information about them below.

FilmLUX 2

This set didn’t actually start out as a sequel to FilmLUX but as it seemed to be in a similar vein, I decided to make it a follow up to my popular FilmLUX set. It came about because I was trying to create a subtle “film” like look to digital images, without them looking overly processed.

With many presets, especially some of my own, and even when processing manually, it can be easy to take your images too far and have them look like they’ve been heavily treated. In many cases the sis what you want, but there are other times when you need something a bit more subtle. With FilmLUX 2 I wanted to create a set of looks, that could enhance an image without it looking like you’ve done an extensive amount of work to it. While images will still look treated, the effect won’t be too extreme. Here is a before and after test.

Industrial Iron

This came about when I was processing some images of the stark german townscapes on a dull and rainy day. I had wanted to create a look that was industrial, and spoke of urban decay, and this is what I came up with. It follows on from my other ‘metals” series, such as Bleached Bronze, Landscape Gold and Steely Blue. The set is one of my smaller mini packs and it’s specifically designed to be used where you want to create a stark, industrial type look.

I hope to have both of theses sets available by the end of the week. It actually takes quite a bit of work to get these ready for release, but I’m going flat out to get them ready, so stay tuned!
