Galway By iPhone, Part 2

Here are some more iPhone pictures from my recent visit to the west of Ireland

There are a lot of bright colours in the city, and there are wonderful textures and patterns to be seen everywhere…

This was a table cloth on a very cold outdoor restaurant.

Discarded cans frozen in ice. One person’s trash is another person’s art exhibit!

Heading home on the train.
Galway By iPhone, Part 1

Using my favourite iPhone Application, ShakeItPhoto I spent much of Friday taking faux Polaroids of Galway city with my iPhone. ShakeItPhoto produces some great analog weathered images straight out of the app with no processing and I love the look it gives. Anyway, here are some of the photos I took while wandering the extremely cold streets of Galway City. More to come later and I’m putting together a virtual exhibition of them all too.

My Current View
Posted on 03. Nov, 2009 by Thomas in Blog, Inspiration, Site News, iPhonetography

I’m afraid this blog has once again fallen silent over the last few days. I’ve been pretty sick having caught a nasty bacterial flu which in turn gave me bronchitis and tracheitis (a lovely combination). So this has pretty much been my view for the last few days. Not exactly a rich tapestry of photographic opportunity, but anyway. Hopefully I’ll get back to posting again soon.

Taken on an iPhone with “ShakeItPhoto”
One of the things I love about the camera on the iPhone is how, even though it’s fairly bad technically it produces wonderfully “analogue” images, especially when used with some of the better third party photography Apps. Plus, you have it with you all the time, and as someone once said: “The best camera is the one you have with you”. You never know when inspiration will strike. In this case it was in starbucks while it bucketed down outside.
