My Latest Book From Blurb: NY & DC

Ever since I first discovered how good ordering books from Blurb through Lightroom 4 I was hooked. I've ordered a few since, and each time one comes I'm blown away. Earlier this week my latest one arrived by FedEx and once again I'm thrilled with the results. It never ceases to amaze me that you can get something so professional made so easily, that looks so completely like you found it on a store shelf.

There's not much more I can say that I didn't say the first time. The print quality is superb. The resolution is superb, and the  paper is superb.

I ordered the largest version again, with the full wrap hard cover and the highest quality standard paper. It's a little expensive, but it is a one off book, and there's over 70 pages in it. As for the content, it's a selection of images from my New York and DC trips, mostly from last year, with some older images too.

I have to say, I really like the interface in Lightroom for creating books too. I had long been a fan of ordering books through Aperture and iPhoto, but (and I know this is probably heresy to some) I do think the Lightroom interface is less clunky, especially when doing cleaner, more professional books. I've always found the book tool in Aperture get's bogged down pretty quickly. Anyway, that's just my opinion.

If you have lightroom and you haven't considered getting a book made, you really should give it a go, you won't regret it. It's a great way to showcase your photography. As I said, I wen't for the most expensive options, but the price comes down if you use different cover and size options. The other great thing is that you can sell your books too. In fact, this one is available from my own blurb store so if you want to have a look at the full thing, there's a nice preview tool on the store which lets you look through it. As it's very expensive (and I'm not making any kind of substantial profit on it) I will consider making a soft cover or smaller version available if there's interest so if you want one let me know.

I wish there was some way you could see just how good these look, but unfortunately, the close up pictures will; have to suffice. Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed this little look.
